Palestine sunbird
The Palestine sunbird is a small passerine bird of the sunbird family, Nectariniidae. Found in parts of the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, it is also known as the orange-tufted sunbird, a name also used for the similar Cinnyris bouvieri, found further south in Africa.
In 2015, the Palestinian Authority adopted the species as
a national bird
. The specific name osea is derived from Ancient Greek.
"Palestine Sunbird: A Stamp of Defiance"
The source of this idea was an interesting documentary I saw. About a custom stamp for the proposed State of Palestine - one I would like to see in our Slowly collections someday.
This proposal is for a
Location stamp
, which is complimentary to the
Palestine Flag request
posted in this topic
.
Thank you for your attention and for considering this idea. 🙂👍
