Stamp Requests

Russian folklore and fairy tales feature a number of characters known by every kid, so I thought it might be an interesting idea to have a set dedicated to them. These characters are also known in other Eastern European countries, although names and spelling may vary. I suggest a set of 6 stamps: Баба Яга (Baba Yaga) The main female antagonist. She flies around in a mortar, wields a pestle, and dwells deep in the forest in a hut usually described as standing on chicken legs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Yaga Иван-царевич (Ivan Tsarevich) Sort of "Prince Charming", saves damsels in distress and defeats evil. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Tsarevich Кощей (Koschei) The main male antagonist. An evil sorcerer, who is kept immortal or deathless by a spell. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koschei Змей Горыныч (Zmei Gorynich) Three-headed dragon with a thing for kidnapping women. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zmei_(Russian) Василиса Прекрасная (Vasilisa the Beautiful) Not exactly a stock character, but probably the best-know female protagonist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasilisa_the_Beautiful Жар-птица (Firebird) Pretty much a phoenix, whose feathers posses magical qualities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firebird_(Slavic_folklore)

These stories are known and loved by millions of people all around the world. They would make an amazing set with each of the stamps telling their own story: 1) Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp Luckily for us, Disney doesn't own this tale. I was thinking about something with the giant bird, but there's a lot to choose from. 4) Scheherazade The main storyteller, who outsmarted the murderous sultan and stayed alive by telling him stories every night withouth finishing them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scheherazade 5) Prince Ahmad and the Fairy Peri-Banu https://arabiannights.fandom.com/wiki/The_Story_of_Prince_Ahmed_and_the_Fairy_Paribanou https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peri Peri can be decribed as a female jinn. Integral to the Persian mythology, and also present in the tales from 1001 nights. I think another stamp with a female character is needed, and this one would be perfect. 6) Magic Carpet Not exclusive to Arabian Nights, but it's hard to imagine the set without it.
