[Afghanistan] Takht-e-Rostam: Where Legends and History Meet
Ali416
📍 Takht-e-Rostam | Samangan Province, Afghanistan
Perched atop a rocky hill near the city of Aybak lies one of Afghanistan's most valuable historical sites.
Takht-e-Rostam consists of stupas and rock-cut temples dating back to the Kushan period (1st to 3rd century AD) — a time when Buddhism thrived in the region.
Alongside its history, legend flows; it’s said that this was the meeting place of Rostam and Tahmineh — the beginning of the story of Sohrab.
🎞️ A blend of historical reality and Shahnameh myth, captured from the heart of stone and silence.
