[Albania] Mother Teresa Day (September 5)
ASRandASR
Mother Teresa Day is a special occasion celebrated in Albania on September 5th, dedicated to honoring the remarkable life and humanitarian work of Mother Teresa. Born as Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu in Skopje, now North Macedonia, she later became known as Mother Teresa after joining the Sisters of Loreto. She devoted her life to helping the poor, sick, and destitute in the slums of Kolkata, India.
In Albania, where Mother Teresa's roots lie, this day is marked with various events and ceremonies to pay tribute to her selfless service and compassion. People gather to reflect on her legacy and the impact she had on countless lives worldwide. Special prayer services and charitable activities are organized in her honor.
Mother Teresa's humility, love, and dedication to serving humanity have left an indelible mark on the world. Albania takes pride in calling her one of its own, and Mother Teresa Day serves as a reminder of the power of kindness and the potential for positive change through simple acts of compassion. It is a day that inspires people to follow in her footsteps and contribute to the welfare of others, keeping her humanitarian spirit alive for generations to come.
Despite the fact Mother Teresa has also North Macedonia and Kosovo roots, and that she lived in India for many years, plus Vatican City could celebrate this as well, I found evidences that this day is celebrated only in Albania, but I may missed something.
