You guys did Caipirinha and Coxinha, but our main dish was left behind! Feijoada may not be beautiful or easy to draw, but it´s something not to be missed when learning about our culture!

Hello Valéria!
And thanks for a nice suggestion. Feijoada is indeed delicious, and would well represent Brazilian Cuisine.
True that it could be a bit hard to show well (the dark colour, might be difficult to see details - it happened with Canada's 'Poutine' stamp).
But maybe they could use a design similar to the World Pulses Day - showing the ingredients besides a prepared 'cumbuca' of Feijoada?
I found an interesting reference :
"Other countries that eat feijoada
Feijoada isn’t exclusive to Brazil – it can be found in several countries, although with slight cultural and regional variations. Other countries and regions where you can sample feijoada are Macau, Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique, and India (especially in Goa). These are all areas which have a history of Portuguese colonization, suggesting that the Portuguese brought their cooking tradition with them and adapted it to local food availability.
Despite feijoada coming to Brazil from Portuguese colonization, the urban myth that it originates from slavery is a widely-believed and far more popular story."
...and they missed mentioning that Feijoada is a traditional Portuguese dish as well (from the Trás-os-Montes region). This page has some excellent photos as well.

Yann2: I really appreciate the research you´ve made but there are some blind spots on it.
The Portuguese dish is much more similar to French Cassoulet, for instance. It tastes very different. Indeed, the Portuguese conquerors brought it to Brazil. They also brought the slaves, by the way. But the fact is that this Portuguese dish was too expensive so slaves couldn´t eat it. So, inspired by the Portuguese original dish, they´ve create something new, using popular and cheap black beans and parts of the pig that rich people didn´t want to eat ( most of us don´t like eating it even nowadays, such as salted dried ears, feet, 'nose'... most of us prefer only eating jerk beef and yummy sausages, un upgraded version... ).
I can´t say about how the dish arrived on other countries or even if they were local creations based on another historical situation once I didn´t study it ( I´m a chef but only studied Brazilian and Eastern European food culture ).
About how to draw it, first of all I have to say Canadian poutine ended up being a nice stamp - congratulations.
My suggestion would be drawing the cumbuca with the stew and add colours with its garnishes: white rice, orange slices and green cabbage - I´ve attached an image of it.
Or to draw the final served dish, such as this one:
I hope I could help.
I´m sorry I didn´t answer before, but I didn´t receive a notification of your previous reply.
