[Brazil] Brazilian Folklore Stamp Set
under review
istovx
Brazilian Mythology is very rich. The stamp set could include the following creatures:
- Bumba Meu Boi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bumba_Meu_Boi)
- Boto (https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2020/11/pink-dolphin-botos-brazil-amazon/617080/)
- Caipora (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caipora)
- Curupira (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curupira)
- Iara (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iara_(mythology))
- Mula Sem Cabeça (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headless_Mule)
- Saci (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saci_(Brazilian_folklore))
Other possible creatures are mentioned in this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_mythology

Shiro from Slowly: Thank you!
Way to go, istovx !! 😎🍀🚀✨🌟
DiscMama
Yann2: Doesn’t Brazil already have a stamp set and 2 more premium single stamps? There are many countries out there who doesn’t have the location stamps nor the premium sets. Why are you supporting this Yann?
Yann2
DiscMama: Yes, Brazil has one single location stamp, a couple of Premium singles, and the Expressions set.
WIKI page for Brazil
has the complete details.I do admire the country, and did not initiate this proposal (as you mentioned, there are many nations with much, much less, some have nothing).
But I do support their organizing and asking, politely, which is what istovx has done in more than one proposal.
I have also tried to help Spain and Netherlands in the same way, with less success as Spain doesn't have a leading person to spear head their effort as istovx has done.
Hope this makes sense? Thank you.
edit, July 3, 22:28 GMT
: Netherlands in fact has a leading supporter here, Amigo97
, which I forgot to mention at first. My mistake, and apologies. Her work is appreciated!Yann2
See my reply to DiscMama for details and rationale...

DiscMama and Yes, Brazil already has a stamp set and two premium stamps. But please notice that this site was created for users to share their ideas, right? And these ideas may or may not be used, that's up to the Slowly team.
When I post my suggestions here, I am not implying Brazil deserves to
immediately
have more stamps, it was never my intention. I am only sharing ideas that I think could come in hand in the future. I do agree that there are many other countries that should be focused on, in order to have their first stamps created. To support them, we can just comment, like and share posts requesting stamps for those countries. Maybe even tag some members of the Slowly Team too, to make sure they actually consider the requests. There's no need to complain about my suggestions for Brazilian stamps. I am just politely giving ideas
and not demanding
more stamps for Brazil. That being said, thank you Yann2 for all the support and for kindly explaining the reason you are supporting my ideas!

istovx: I really enjoy discovering the world through Slowly, which, I think, is the whole point of this great app. As someone living an ocean away from Brazil, I would like to know more about its culture and rich traditions. The current Brazilian set, unfortunately, does not tell me absolutely anything about it, which is why I was happy to see your wonderful idea that you presented in a such a nice way. I keep saying that myths and folkore are the key to understanding different cultures - and according to the latest poll results, many Slowly users agree.
It is true that we have seen some
demanding
comments around requiring immediate action
- but none of that applies to you, and you have my support.istovx
Nonethewiser: Thank you so much!! :)
Yann2
istovx: You are very welcome, and I really am happy that you and some other users are active and leading new ideas, moving ahead.
I am the same way as well, and have always been polite here, even when I disagreed with a proposal or direction. Still, I am getting some comments that are negative, so the explanation hopefully helps state my reasons.
We are all in this together
, and you are not doing anything wrong. Thanks, friend! 😎👍🌟🍀
istovx
Yann2: Thank you!!
I am sad to hear you are also getting negative comments despite always being so polite.
But well said: we are all in this together :)
istovx
Yann2: Good idea, quite a clever move! Hope it works :)
DiscMama
Yann2: But you’ve gone to different post by people preaching them that their country already have stamps, people should be free to express their thoughts here without any interference by you or Nonethewiser
DiscMama
istovx: There’s nothing wrong in putting suggestions here, it’s only about Yann2 hypocrisy
Yann2
Shiro from Slowly - this user DiscMama has been rude and aggressive here and in other comments.
I would request your attention to this, please? Thank you.
I have responded to an earlier questioning comment from this user, but refuse to engage them again as the nature of their comments is purely negative.
I am attaching a screenshot of my comment to this user, which went un-responded - until their return this morning.
The referred response in the screenshot is on this very topic, just a bit above. Posted 4 days ago.
slowly admin, this needs some attention. Thank you.
edit :
adding screenshot of two negative comments I would like to report here. Saved screenshots in case of changes to originals.YashvardhanJ
DiscMama: If this is in regards with my post then I’ll just say Yann2 has been polite with me and made me understand about the tone, nothing else!!
archita
Yann2: I'm wondering who started making this kind of reddit-style verbal attack happen here? That's very obvious.
From his message, I only see that he's trying to mock that so-called "team". Hopefully that "team" will choose to self-reflect. If their messages are fine to exist, why he should be reported?
archita
DiscMama: and we have to mention too if Yann2 is talking about rude and aggressive.
Yann2
YashvardhanJ: Thank you. Have a great day! 🙂
YashvardhanJ
Yann2: 😊
DiscMama
archita: No one needs to be reported,Yann2 just wants to crib when called out for his hypocrisy and Nonethewiser is a bully too, he should reprimand him first
DiscMama
YashvardhanJ: And here comes his army to defend him. Did he ask you to write this?
Nonethewiser
DiscMama: Hello, I do not know you, have never done anything to you and do not wish to be involved in any of this. Please stop tagging and badmouthing me.

Nonethewiser DiscMama archita YashvardhanJ Yann2 Dear all, let's end the conversation here. Further replies that are not related to stamp requests will be removed.

I was just thinking about this, I'm still finishing my first week but already realized the lack of stamps representing us in the app (and c'mon... «coxinha» and «caipirinha» I mean...) I've found my way to the reddit and now here in the blog, and the first requests I saw were of Greek and Egyptian gods (which I promptly said to myself that I'll buy if/when come out) but then It hit me... where are OUR gods and deities? I don't even know if there's a stamp for the Dia dos Povos Indígenas here. The entire world is... a lot, so It just fair that not every place will get fast spotlight, and I don't even consider myself a patriot, but we sure deserve some love. That being said, I really appreciate what you're doing here. From I've seen already, you're almost single-handing all our requests and great ideas, kudos!
Nonethewiser
Bran 화산: I have a feeling that Slowly was focused on food stamps and language expressions for a long time. I am very happy that this is changing now, thanks to the feedback site. Brazil definitely deserves better stamps, same as many other countries. I will keep my fingers crossed that you will get this set! I did not know much about the Brazilian folklore and I find it fascinating. Personally, I will buy all mythology sets that are available to me and gift them to my friends to support Slowly. Good luck and take care
istovx
Bran 화산: I definitely agree that creating stamps that go beyond local dishes is very necessary and I personally really enjoy the idea of having mythological-themed stamps! I sure hope the Greek/Egyptian Gods ones become a reality soon.
As for a "Dia dos Povos Indígenas" stamp, yes, it exists! It was released on different days in each country, but here in Brazil it became available during April 19, our "Dia do Índio". You can find a picture of it down below :)
Thank you so much for your support, really! I am doing my best to think of some cool ideas for new Brazilian stamps.
Nonethewiser
istovx: Congratulations! :) This set is under review now - I'll keep my fingers crossed that it gets released.
Yann2
istovx: It should be noted also that
the Very First appearance of this stamp
was on April 19, in Brazil. Nice posts, Bran 화산, welcome to Slowly and our community! Bem-vindo...
istovx
Nonethewiser: Thank you so much!! I sure hope so :)
Bran 화산
istovx: I just saw the tag of under review, congrats! I really hope they approve it.
About the indigenous people stamp, OMG I loved it! And also, so glad that they didn't actually call it «dia do Índio», really nice of them. Thanks for attaching it here, It's so pretty I wish I already had it, haha.
As for the support, tamo junto! Finding this community was definitely a treasure, and now I sure hope to be around here more often, helping wherever I can.
Bran 화산
Thanks Yann2. much appreciated! Every encounter I had so far here was really nice and warm, it's clear to see that people care a lot about this community, you guys created a beautiful place, no doubt. Will make sure be around again.
istovx
Bran 화산: Thank you! I also hope this stamp set is approved. We'll see!
Yes, the Indigenous People stamp is really pretty! Maybe you're lucky enough to get it through Time Machine, right? Fingers crossed!
I am glad to hear you're enjoying the community, welcome aboard! It would be great to have you around more often :)
Yann2
Bran 화산: The main reason the stamp was not named in Portuguese is that it was meant to be used for other countries as well - Canada, USA, and others.
It is a nice one, I agree. And you can usually find it on the Time Machine for a 25 coins Random purchase. Given enough coins, you will eventually get it. Good luck!
You mentioned already having visited
our subReddit

Essa ideia é maravilhosa, obrigada. Espero que a proposta se faça realidade. 🌟

Manu.C.: Obrigada pelo apoio, Manu! Também espero que essa coleção vire realidade algum dia :)
