The beaver has been one of the most influential animals in the history of Canada's culture. It is on the coat of Arms of the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta. Its name is used in over 1000 locations across the country. It was even on Canada's first postage stamp, valued at 3 pence and issued in 1851.
