The north of Chile have a lot of symbols that can be represented in a stamp for our country. For example:
-Morro de Arica.
-Pampa del Tamarugal.
-La Tirana: A small town located close to Iquique. In this place, it's celebrated the most religious feast of the North.
-La Portada: Natural rock in the pacific ocean. It's located in the region of Antofagasta, and it's a icon to our region. I will be very happy if this one became a stamp, haha.
-Mano del Desierto: Translated to 'Hand of the desert', it's an awesome structure in the middle of the Atacama Desert.
-San Pedro de Atacama: One of the biggest touristic points of the north of Chile. It's a small town, with a lot of indigenous culture. In the town, you will be able to see the Licacanbur: Another iconic volcano of the country.
-Valle de la Luna.
-Salitreras: I think this one it's the most important. The salitreras are towns close to saltpeper mines. It was very important for the country, because it helped to our economy at that time. Before WW2, the saliteras were closed. And now, they are ghost towns scattered in the desert. I recommend the 'Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeper works', and the 'Chacabuco' one. The first one, it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the last one, it's the biggest saltpeper town.
Here are a picture of the Humberstone and Santa Laura saltpeper town. The picture it's not mine, credits to the authors. <3
Please, make a north-chilean slowly user happy! And sorry if i make a mistake with the english language.
