It is a Catholic church located in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. Built in Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles with three domes protruding from the roof, it was inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Construction began in 1885 and was completed about 100 years later in the 1980s. It is one of the country's greatest architectural attractions.
It has a capacity of approximately 8,000 people inside and attracts hundreds of Catholic devotees and visitors daily.
