[France] Works of Jules Verne (set)
complete
Nonethewiser
A true visionary and one of the world's beloved authors, Jule Verne predicted numerous inventions like electric submarines and space travel long before they became technically possible.
Luckily for us, his works are now in public domain, so I suggest a set with each stamp dedicated to one of his famous novels.
1) The Mysterious Island (French: L'Île mystérieuse)
An air balloon caught in a storm
2) 20 000 Leagues Under the Seas (French: Vingt mille lieues sous les mers)
Nautilus, the submarine
3) Around the World in Eighty Days (French: Le tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours)
Can be pretty much anything. I like the picture with the mechanic globe
4) In Search of the Castaways (French: Les Enfants du capitaine Grant)
I suggest a sailing ship
5) Journey to the Center of the Earth (French: Voyage au centre de la Terre)
A whole new world under the surface of our planet
6) Around the Moon (French: Autour de la Lune)
Many options here as well: space gun, space "train", the moon itself...

While we’re reviewing different proposals and it will take time, we’d love to know what kind of stamps our users care about most:

What a great suggestion. Slowly can make many groups of users happy - french literature lovers, technology enthusiasts, people who are children in their heart :-) I am the second in line (after you) to grab this set when it is out.
On Jules Verne's cultural importance - from wikipedia:
Jules Verne has been the second most-translated author in the world since 1979, ranking between Agatha Christie and William Shakespeare.[6] He has sometimes been called the "father of science fiction", a title that has also been given to H. G. Wells and Hugo Gernsback.[7] In the 2010s, he was the most translated French author in the world. In France, 2005 was declared "Jules Verne Year" on the occasion of the centenary of the writer's death.
I can add Carpathian castle, 2 books with Robur the Conqueror and few more, I have read maybe 20-30 I think...
C'mon Slowly :-)

ImpossibleTwin: thank you, dear Yann! 😊

On a side note: I suggested this for France, because Jules Verne is a French author, obviously, but his works were significant for the entire world, so this can be a global set as well.
