Ray was a legendary filmmaker.He received the oscar in 1992 and also was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1987.Some of his famous films are Pather panchali,Charulata,Ganashatru,Shatranj ke khiladi and many more.

He also wrote many short stories and detective stories for children.Feluda,Professor Shanku are his two famous fictional characters.
