[Ivory Coast] Cocoa Beans, Location Stamp
M Daniels
I'd like to request a stamp for Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), a country in West Africa, that some may not know much about. Did you know that Côte d'Ivoire is the world's leading producer of chocolate?! It's true, in fact Côte d'Ivoire supplies over 38% of cocoa beans to the world!
In 2017 alone, Côte d'Ivoire produced 1.8 million tons of cocoa! If you've ever had Nestlé, Cadbury or Hershey's chocolate, then you've had Ivorian cocoa, as those manufacturers primarily buy cocoa beans exported from Côte d'Ivoire.
Cocoa beans grow in a cacao pod on theobroma cacao trees, which thrive in the humid, tropics of Côte d'Ivoire. When the cacao pods are ripe, the pods are opened to remove and separate the cocoa beans from the pulp and rind of the pod. The cocoa beans are then fermented, dried and sold to be exported.

That's a nice idea. I love chocolate and to honor the beans is a great idea

Fingers crossed it gets a notice!

Shiro from Slowly Hello! I wanted to edit my post by changing the title to, '[Ivory Coast] Cocoa Beans, Location Stamp' and by omitting the very last sentence of the post. Could you please help me with the edits? Thank you for your time.

M Daniels, thank you for this proposal - Cote D'Ivoire was still in our short list for the few remaining countries without ANY location stamps.
I had spoken with another friend, Babacar who suggested Cocoa as being a very significant crop in the country and worthy of consideration.
As mentioned in an earlier comment, I also think this could be their Location stamp - something to consider, I think it's more needed than a Premium stamp for a small country without many users or much disposable income.
If
done as a Location stamp
, all local users of Slowly will automatically have it, and can spread it to pen pals everywhere. Those overseas could purchase it as a World Explorer item, 25 coins random purchase as usual.Win-win situation. Locals all get free stamp, we can buy and use it,
and Slowly gets more net revenue this way
than the few sales of a Premium, 50 Coins, one Dollar cost regional stamp.Step Hanie
Voted. The Cathedral and cocoa are good ideas for stamps.

we had a conversation with Melanie and she mentioned the
Basilica of Our Lady of Peace
, which is an interesting landmark in its own.
