Mantı
DerdaKse
Mantı is a traditional dish made by placing spiced ground meat into small pieces of dough, which are then boiled in water. It is widely believed that this dish was brought from Central Asia to Anatolia by Turks and Mongols along the Silk Road. According to Holly Chase, Turkish and Mongol horsemen carried frozen or dried mantı with them during migrations. These troops could easily prepare and eat mantı over a campfire. In Turkish cuisine, mantı is typically served with tomato sauce, melted butter, and yogurt. It is often garnished with spices such as dried mint and sumac. The preparation and presentation of mantı have evolved and vary by region.
