[Norway] Rock carvings at Alta

Over 6000 individual rock carvings found in Alta in Northern Norway. Using shoreline dating, the earliest carvings were dated to around 4200 BC; the most recent carvings were dated to around 500 BC.
The largest site is an open-air museum. The carvings have been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1985. It is Norway's only prehistoric World Heritage Site.
