[Brazil] Paulista Avenue
Wesley Nóbrega
Paulista Avenue is one of the most famous avenues in Brazil. Plus, it is also the largest commercial avenue in Latin America. There are lots of attractions along the avenue but the museum called MASP is the most important there.

Hello Shiro from Slowly,
Since we have a wonderful and active topic with various request for new Brazilian Location stamps, and the MASP building proposed here is one of them in the short list,
maybe you could Merge this topic into the new and active one?
Thank you! 🙂👍

Wesley Nóbrega , have you seen Carolinne's post ? More Location Stamps for Brazil is alive and well, it has a nice listing of various landmarks, for different regions, including the MASP building.
The proposal needs more support, maybe you could mention it to other Brazilian users and pen pals of yours?
We have got success with some new Location stamp proposals for countries which so far had none, and Brazil certainly deserves more.
Thank you, and good luck! 😎🍀🚀

It would also be nice to have some from the North of Brazil!
As for example the Ver-o-Peso Market in Belém - Pará
And the Teatro Amazonas in Manaus - Amazonas

uvlys: thank you for the suggestions. Carolinee. made
a new topic requesting more Brazilian Location stamps
, and I posted there. Maybe you could add your requests, along with some information links and images, to her topic ?
It would be GREAT to have a discussion that attracts more attention and support.
Brazil deserves more than a single location stamp
for sure.Thank you!! 😎👍

The MASP building is indeed a landmark, and could be the basis for a nice new Brazilian location stamp. A fellow user here suggested the Elevador Lacerda, in Salvador, Bahia, which is also unique and iconic - would be attractive and get people's attention even it they do now know what it is.
Brazil only has one Location stamp, the Cristo Redentor one, in Rio de Janeiro, and the country deserves more.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Some Reference sites :
- Lina Bo Bardi's work explained. A female in a male dominated field, she goes on to propose this design, so advanced that it was judged 'un-buildable' by some professionals. The free span of the building is enormous. And yes, it worked.
- Tripadvisor's page for the MASP buildinghas hundreds of nice photos :
- "4. It floats
As well as housing works of fine art, the museum building is a work of art in its own right. A landmark of modern Brazilian architecture and a striking example of Brutalism, Lina Bo Bardi used glass and concrete to create a building that almost seems to float in mid-air. The main building is suspended on two large concrete beams which rest on huge piers. Not only does this give the building a greater sense of light and space, but it also creates an open public plaza underneath. Known as “free span”, Lina Bo Bardi designed this area beneath the galleries to serve as a public square for the community to gather, to give shelter and shade, and to host public events.
It’s beautiful AND practical
