Pedro Eleodoro Paulet Mostajo (Arequipa, Peru 1874 - Buenos Aires, Argentina 1945) was an architect, diplomat, engineer and journalist, best known for being the "father of modern astronautics".
His contribution to humanity makes it possible today to explore the cosmos through the use of the liquid propellant engine.
In Peru, the "day of aerospace science and technology" is celebrated in his honor on July 2.
He has recently been recognized by appearing on the second largest denomination banknote in Peru: 100 soles.
