Premium Cheese Set ( was "National CHEESE day" ) 🧀
under review
Lufox
Cheese is a food that have various forms and is enjoyed all over the world. Even if it is not (key) part of every country's cuisine, I feel like it is big enough to have its own stamp.
What do you think?
The National Cheese Day is on the 4th of June.
Or maybe there could even be a premium set of like six most common cheeses?
Thank you 💕

While we’re reviewing different proposals and it will take time, we’d love to know what kind of stamps our users care about most:
Lufox
If I'm not mistaken, i put this under the "GLOBAL" category.
So I'm confused, how is this only for the "USA"?
If it was my bad, then please understand I really meant this premium set (of six) to be available for every user (if Slowly team decides to go with it of course).
Thanks! 🧀💛

National Cheese Day has got to be the best holiday to ever exist! I would LOVE for Slowly to develop Cheese Stamps as well! Cheese is simply delicious. I do not think the US has a day to celebrate the greatness that is cheese😭!

Hello all!
I'm thinking about the set:
-mozzarella
-camembert or brie
-emmental
-parmesan or cheddar
-feta
-blue cheese or goat cheese
Ugh there's so many! This is just the first thought though.
Open to suggestions 🧀

Lufox: There are many, many cheeses that could be considered.
I think we should think of the ones that are well known, even internationally, and which people can recognize and relate to.
- Parmesan, definitively. Italian food without some grated Parm just is not the same.
- Emmenthal, the iconic Swiss 'holes' cheese is well know everywhere also, and delicious.
- Danish Blueis very recognizable with the veins in the body. A yummy cheese and popular, well known as well.
- Fetais well known in North America, and in Europe as well, it could be a contender.
- a softer, creamy cheese? like the Camembert or Brieyou mentioned.
- and just one more needed to round up a set. Which ?
I found a nice page, with lots of information and
absolutely gorgeous photos
- a nice read, yummy. Yann2
Adding a couple ideas for the sixth cheese to round up a set.
- Mozzarela is a great cheese, simple and so nice in melted form. Anyone who likes Pizza knows what I am talking about, right?
But it could be a plain image to illustrate on a stamp, the most commonly used Mozza is industrially made in rectangular blocks. Nothing to easy to identify what it is.
But having just finished a nice Pizza, I thought we could use Mozzarella di Bufala, the most noble form of this cheese, and one that has an artisanal look and feel, plus taste.
- another possibility would be a simple and easy cheese, like the 'Queso Fresco' I saw mentioned in the page linked above. I am not familiar with the Mexican version, but it appears VERY similar to simple cheese made in Brazil ('Queijo de Minas' or 'Frescal') and also in Portugal.
This simple cheese is probably produced in other countries, with different names as well?

- Brazilian one : https://cheese.com/minas-cheese/

ImpossibleTwin: Gouda probably deserves it's spot among the six most well-known cheeses. Especially with it's quite famous Gouda joke from Marshall in How I Met Your Mother it's even more well-known. For better geographical distribution of cheeses the Brazilian one would be cool however. Paneer (India) or Halloumi (Lebanon) could be choices for cheeses from Asia then. For Danish Blue there are more famous blue cheeses like Roquefort, Stilton or Gorgonzola. Also Ricotta deserves a mention but you could arguably make a whole separate "Italian cheeses" set.

Lufox:
For a diverse cheese selection, paste, renown and origin, I would suggest for a set :
-Camembert. A soft, creamy cheese made from cow's milk, originating from Normandy, France. It has a bloomy rind and a rich, buttery flavor.
-Cheddar. A hard cheese made from cow's milk, originating from the village of Cheddar in Somerset, England. It has a sharp, tangy flavor and a crumbly texture.
-Gorgonzola. A blue cheese made from cow's milk, originating from the town of Gorgonzola in Lombardy, Italy. It has a creamy texture and a sharp, tangy flavor with veins of blue mold running throughout.
-Emmental. A Swiss cheese made from cow's milk, with a distinctive nutty flavor and large holes or "eyes" throughout the cheese. It's often used in fondue and sandwiches.
-Gouda. A semi-hard cheese made from cow's milk, originating from the city of Gouda in the Netherlands. It has a creamy, mild flavor and a smooth, elastic texture.
-Feta. A crumbly, salty cheese made from sheep's milk or a blend of sheep's and goat's milk, originating from Greece. It's often used in salads and as a topping for dishes like pizza and baked potatoes.

Yann2: I think a stamp set about cheese should also include France, with 1,200 different types produced throughout the country! I would recommend camembert or roquefort.

Cheeses are delicious, and there are so many varieties. Parmesan, Swiss, Danish Blue, so many others.
I think a set of 6 stamps would be the best. Great idea!
Lufox
ImpossibleTwin: thank you!
I thought about suggesting the set, but wanted to firstly test the waters, if cheese is even that popular among Slowly users.
Now I will think about what six ones could I propose for the set in my next comment.
