[Russia] Dostoevsky Day (first Saturday of July)
døe
On the first Saturday of July every year, the city of St. Petersburg observes Dostoevsky Day, in celebration of the Russian writer, Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. Those of us who are deeply impacted by his writing and legacy would love to have a stamp in honour of him.

Thank you døe for posting and sharing this event with us. I followed the link you provided and looked at the whole site - which is beautifully designed and executed.
Dostoevsky Day would be today, so your post is apropos. Sadly it wouldn't be possible to have a stamp made in time, but the idea is valid, and maybe for next year.
With the current unease in the world due to the situation in Ukraine, I have seen little sympathy here in the site to proposals coming from the Russian Slowly users community. I can understand that, as emotions are high, although it's important to keep in mind the people and culture of the country are not the motivators of the conflict.
Thank you for sharing this. Dostoevsky is recognized as one of the luminaires of Literature, and his work will be recognized long after this unfortunate situation is resolved - hopefully soon, as it's truly heart-breaking.
