Born in India and later brought to Sri Lanka, Raja was cared for at Nedungamuwe temple near Mirigama. Renowned for his majestic height, calm temperament, and regal appearance, he carried the sacred relic for over a decade with great dignity. Following his passing in 2022, he was honored as a national treasure, and his preserved remains are displayed at the National Museum in Colombo, symbolizing his lasting contribution to Sri Lankan culture and Buddhist tradition.
