The Dniprohes Dam, officially known as the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station, is one of the most significant industrial projects in Ukraine. Located in Zaporizhzhia, it was completed in 1932 and was one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world at that time. The dam played a crucial role in the electrification and industrialization in the past. Despite suffering damage during World War II, it was rebuilt and remains an essential source of power for the region. The Dniprohes Dam is not only an engineering marvel but also a symbol of the industrial prowess and resilience of the people of Zaporizhzhia. The surrounding area offers picturesque views of Dnipro river, Khortytsia island itself, coatal rocks and opportunities to learn about region and the dam’s history and it's impact. Currently it is constantly suffering from Ukrainian-Russian War.
