[Vietnam] Vietnam Reunification Day, Liberation Day or April 30th
_yoursymphony
Reunification Day (Vietnamese: Ngày Thống nhất), also known as Victory Day (Ngày Chiến thắng), Liberation Day (Ngày Giải phóng or Ngày Giải phóng miền Nam), or by its official name, Day of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (Ngày giải phóng miền Nam, thống nhất đất nước) is a public holiday in Vietnam that marks the event when the North Vietnamese and North Vietnam-controlled Viet Cong forces captured Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), the capital of South Vietnam, on 30 April 1975, thus ending the Vietnam War. The event marked the start of the transition period of reunification, which also occurred after a vote in the National Assembly for reunification on 2 July 1976, when South Vietnam and North Vietnam were merged, forming the modern-day Vietnam.

April 30, 2025 will be the 50th anniversary of my country's independence. There are many activities to celebrate this event. Hopefully Slowly will have time to make a stamp to celebrate this holiday so that Vietnamese people using the app can buy them.

2025 will be the 50th anniversary of national reunification, hopefully Slowly can launch this stamp!!!

It was a sensitive day. Not a mark to celebrate. I don't think we would want to boast about war!

Ts27se: I don't see any problem with it. Everything can be sensitive to a specific group of people anyways. And I mean, we already have stamps of generals, emperors, or controversial people/days from other countries, including Columbus Day. So what's wrong with having a stamp on one of the largest Vietnamese holidays?
It's not about boasting about war, it's about commemorating the tragic war that happened and celebrating the positive changes that come after!

GreenFishh We don't want to brag about our victory. Who wants to brag? It's simply because it's the 50th anniversary, a beautiful number, a meaningful milestone. That's what we want.
