[Brazil] Brazilian Desserts Stamp Set
complete
istovx
Brazil has many traditional desserts, so it would be nice to see them having their own stamp set. Here are some suggestions:
- Brigadeiro (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadeiro)
- Quindim (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quindim)
- Açaí na tigela (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A%C3%A7a%C3%AD_na_tigela)
- Pé de Moleque (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A9-de-moleque)
- Paçoca (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pa%C3%A7oca)
- Goiabada (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goiabada)
- Pamonha (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamonha)
- Bolo de rolo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolo_de_rolo)
- Curau (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curau)

While we’re reviewing different proposals and it will take time, we’d love to know what kind of stamps our users care about most:

[Brazil] Brigadeiro – o doce favorito dos brasileiros
Severina Minervina
The brigadeiro is a traditional Brazilian dessert. The origin of the dessert isn't certain, but the most common theory is that is was created by a confectioner from Rio de Janeiro, Heloisa Nabuco de Oliveira, to promote the presidential candidacy of Eduardo Gomes. It is made of condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and chocolate sprinkles covering the outside layer.

istovx, such a nice proposal and 60 votes, but still no progress.
Maybe ask your pen pal friends to visit, comment, offer suggestions? I think this and a Brazilian Food stamp sets could be possible, if there's more interest.
Good luck! 🍀😎👍🍰🍨🍻

Yann2: That must be because Brazil already has a stamp set, so the Slowly team is probably focusing on creating stamp sets for countries that don't have any.
Even though it would be amazing to have two stamp sets, I think it is quite fair that Brazil has to wait a little longer for a new one.
Yann2
istovx: I have been thinking that the threshold for a proposal to move ahead really varies, and depends on the type of stamp, and the current situation for the given country.
Our proposals for a new Location stamp for countries without any at all are very easy to sympathize with, everyone can relate to how hard that is for the local users. Who have nothing of their own, to send to their pen pals overseas.
Thankfully, that need is attracting sympathy and support, and some of our proposals already moved to Under Review and even In Progress status.
Stamp sets are a bit different - there is a larger cost for production, and Slowly needs to evaluate the chances of selling them to recoup their design fees costs, plus make some profit to support their operation.
A second stamp set is not off the wall as a request, but maybe a couple of new Location stamps for Brazil are an easier one to tackle first?
Carolinee. has a beautiful
proposal for new Brazilian Location stamps
, and it would be wonderful if anyone interested can chime in and support it.istovx
Yann2: Yes, it's definitely not impossible for Brazil to have a second stamp set, I would just assume it is far from being a priority right now.
As for the location-based stamps, – as I stated before when suggesting the Elevador Lacerda or the Botanical Garden of Curitiba stamps – they would be ideal. Maybe they are not under progress yet because there are quite a few other countries that still have no stamps (as you stated yourself), so I guess that's Slowly's priority right now.
Having other location-based stamps for Brazil would be great, but it's totally understandable that they are not under progress yet. Not because they don't have enough support, I would assume, but because Slowly is focusing on other stamp projects for countries that need them the most.

Isabella, you have the best ideas!
I'm already looking forward to the stamps of Açaí and Paçoca :)
istovx
uvlys: Thank you so much :)
Oh, me too!! Açaí is such a colorful dessert, imagine seeing it in a stamp! And Paçoca would look amazing too, specially if it is represented by the "paçoca rolha", with such an unique shape

Yann2: Yess, thank you!!

Acarajé would also be interesting.
istovx
robenilson22: Oh yes, it would be very nice to have an Acarajé stamp, but maybe not as part of a Dessert collection, right?
robenilson22
istovx: God, I forgot it was dessert. Sorry.
istovx
robenilson22: Don't worry! Your idea is still amazing :)
robenilson22
istovx: Thanks

robenilson22: The other day I was researching a proposal for Benin, and was surprised to find they have street vendors selling it there too.
In fact, the origin of the Acarajé is from their region. A lot of imprisoned slaves left Africa thru Benin's ports, many ending up in Brazil.
Their religions came with them as well, to Brazil, Cuba and other Caribbean areas.
